Description

Le Château du Bois, a family business rooted in Vaucluse, has excelled for over 130 years in the art of cultivating, harvesting, and distilling fine lavender. Founded in 1890, the agricultural estate Le Château du Bois is located at the summit of the Monts de Vaucluse, at an altitude of 1100 meters, where 110 hectares of population lavender fields are passionately farmed by the Lincelé family across five generations. From seed to lavender fields, from flower to drops of essential oil, everything is mastered and traced to produce a beautiful product with balanced olfactory notes and beneficial active molecules.

Their commitment to excellence and quality has been recognized since 1981, the year their harvest was granted the Protected Designation of Origin label for Haute Provence lavender, ensuring the authenticity and purity of this fine lavender essential oil. In 2021, they took a further step by committing to environmental respect, certifying their fine lavender production as organic agriculture with Ecocert Greenlife.

In 1991, with the opening of the Musée de la Lavande Luberon in Cabrières d'Avignon, a true conservatory was dedicated to the valorization of fine lavender, the profession of lavender farming, and this symbol of Provence. This cultural site offers a space for exchange and discovery around fine lavender, thanks to a museographic journey that presents 345 collection pieces, enriched by animations, films, and digital tools.

Adjoining the Museum, the Le Château du Bois shop showcases the products derived from the Le Château du Bois estate, offering a wide range of essential oils, hydrosols, beauty and well-being cosmetics certified by Ecocert Greenlife since 2013, as well as scented creations, all made from their fine lavender essential oil. The Lincelé family's presence has also extended to the historic heart of Avignon in 2008, and to Arles in 2010.

In 2023, the opening of their laboratory in Coustellet marked a new step in their development, allowing them to design and produce on-site small series of cosmetics, always under the brand Le Château du Bois Provence ©.

Proudly Provençal, Le Château du Bois distinguishes itself by its commitment to promoting fine Provence lavender, supporting organic agriculture, and valorizing French know-how, through local partnerships and a responsible purchasing policy that exclusively favors French suppliers.
